Love short stories? The Royal City Literary Arts Society’s Tellers of Short Tales series returns to the Anvil Centre this week.

John Mavin is the featured author at the next session, on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 413A at the Anvil Centre (777 Columbia St.) The free monthly program is designed to engage fans of the short story genre with emerging and published short story writers.

Mavin is the author of the dark literary collection Rage, and he has taught creative writing at Capilano University, Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, with New Shoots (through the Vancouver School Board) and at the Learning Exchange in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. He’s a graduate of SFU’s The Writer’s Studio and also holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from UBC.
