Two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in connection with the outbreak at Sunset Lodge in Victoria.

Island Health said Monday that two additional staff members have tested positive. The new cases were detected through testing on Sunday.

A total of 24 people — 11 staff and 13 residents — have tested positive for COVID-19 so far, up from 22 on Sunday. The health authority said most residents are not experiencing symptoms at this point.

The outbreak was declared on Aug. 27, when three staff members tested positive for novel coronavirus. Two additional cases were reported Saturday, and another 17 were reported Sunday.

Screening of staff and residents is carried out twice per day at Sunset Lodge, the heath authority said.

Admissions, transfers and social visits are postponed because of the outbreak. People deemed to be essential visitors are allowed to continue to visit residents.

All employees must wear masks at Sunset Lodge.

Owned by the Salvation Army, Sunset Lodge is at 952 Arm St. in Vic West.
