A lot changes take place after we finish high school. Our time during the day is no longer taken up attending classes and we now have to focus on getting a full-time job.
It’s a strange feeling not to get up every morning and walk the halls with all of our friends and peers. Everything we knew for 13 years is suddenly over; we’re out in the real world.
There’s no doubt it can be a daunting transition.
But as anxious as we can feel about leaving the nest, becoming an adult, and learning responsibility, we also can’t deny that it is a bit thrilling.
We get to start our own path; many of us will be going off to school or taking a gap year, and some of us will work full time.
With a little bit of planning and effort, we can go anywhere we want.
Yes, there might be a slight lull at the start as we figure out exactly what makes us happy and will put us on the road to success, but as we navigate this, we just have to keep in mind that it’s okay to make mistakes and that we should be excited to learn and be independent.
