Two BC Hockey League teams on extended winless runs met at South Surrey Arena on Friday, October 18.

Surrey Eagles ended their six-game losing streak with a 5-3 over Powell River Kings, who had lost five straight prior to the matchup in front of 427 fans at South Surrey Arena.

Powell River fell behind 3-0 before Jacob Badal scored his first of two goals on the night midway through the second period, but Surrey’s Christophe Tellier replied just seven seconds later to restore his team’s three-goal lead.

Reilly Moran also scored for the Kings; his seventh goal of the season was set up by Hunter McCoy and Michael Abgrall while the Kings were on a powerplay.

Kings’ goaltender Matteo Paler-Chow faced 20 shots, while his counterpart Kal Schell made 27 saves for the Eagles.

Powell River will try to snap its six-game losing streak in Coquitlam on Sunday, October 20.
