Squamish council gave the greenlight for new apartments to be built in the Legacy Ridge development.

Elected officials unanimously voted on Sept. 17 in favour of a development permit that would allow the construction of an 11-unit apartment building and 30 townhomes at District Lot 58, which is off Mamquam Road.

The permit is being issued to Legacy Ridge Developments Squamish Ltd.

Developers also plan on building three open space areas; an activated play area below the apartment building; a picnic area, pump track and bike skills area; and a picnic area, lookout and trail, a municipal staff report says.

These open space areas provide approximately 2,960 square metres in shared open space.
