Squamish council voted in favour of granting a development permit to a person seeking to start up a daycare at 1534 Depot Road in Brackendale.

Councillors voted unanimously on Sept. 17 in favour of granting the permit to Madeleine Rae Cott and Kurtis Robert Munro.

The permit allows a variance that would allow the maximum permitted size of an accessory building from 60 square metres to 110 square metres.

The centre can have a maximum of 16 children in its care.

Cott told council that the permit would allow her to make alterations her home that would make it suitable for childcare.

This is a necessary step in the daycare application process, she said.
