Take a peek inside a unique Penticton house made mostly of recycled beams and repurposed material collected over years through this new short documentary video.

Penticton architect Geoff Orr built the dream home over 14 years, sharing his story with filmmakers Floating Orb Productions.

The 5,600-square-foot building includes such quirky features as an adjacent natural stone grotto Orr has filled with koi, a hallway floor made of over 12,000 pennies, and dozens of creative uses for recycled material, including some salvaged from the old Penticton Super Valu store, which was demolished in 2006.

And its location, tucked away in the hills above Penticton, provides a classic spectacular Okanagan view.

Orr has advice for others inspired to design and build their dream homes.

"You gotta make decisions and you gotta move forward and if you don't make decisions, nothing gets done." Orr says. "If you think about it and dwell on it forever, you're not actually getting anything done."

Take the full tour and listen to Orr's process by watching this YouTube video.
