Residents of areas in Roberts Creek remain under an evacuation order and alert.

As of Feb. 19, the SCRD has had “no word yet” about whether the local state of emergency and evacuation alert and order would be lifted, said chief administrative officer Dean McKinley. The state of emergency, order and alert were first called on Feb. 2 and renewed Feb. 12 until Feb. 23.

The order affects 1815 Lower Rd. and 2016, 2022 and 2028 Ocean Beach Esplanade.

The alert applies to 994, 1998 and 2044 Ocean Beach Esplanade, 1843 and 1847 Lower Rd. and Lot 6, Plan VAP6446, District Lot 2497.

McKinley said private security is on site as Fortis and Transportation Ministry workers continue to remediate the section of Lower Road along the 1800 block that washed out during a period of heavy rain the first weekend of February.
