Sunshine Coast boxer Marcus Davies stayed busy Saturday, Dec. 7 with a decision win over Rain City Boxing Club Middleweight Ari Ashari at the Scottish Cultural Centre in Vancouver.

In a typical Davies fight, he brought his pressuring game to Ashari and prevailed over the popular boxing veteran in front of Ashari’s home crowd.

Davies weighed 165 pounds to Ashari’s 161.

While there were no dramatic moments in this fight, Davies won a workman-like decision, bringing his record to 8-2 since entering Elite competition.

Davies’ focus is on representing B.C. for the second time at the 2020 Canadian Championships.

Next fights for Sunshine Coast Boxing Club boxers is Sunday, Jan. 26, 3 p.m. at the Venue Night Club on Granville Street in Vancouver when Davies fights a Surrey boxer and Theo Kontekakis is scheduled to face a Maple Ridge opponent.
