On Friday, Dawson Creek RCMP received a report of suspicious activity at a business. The behaviour of some customers at the business prompted the business to call police, providing a description of the individuals and the vehicle they were driving, according to a statement issued by North District RCMP.

A short time later, police spotted the vehicle leaving a known drug house in Dawson Creek and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled from police, but later came to a stop after making multiple attempts to evade police.

The driver and passenger were arrested without further incident. During the investigation, police seized a stolen 9 mm Chiappa rifle with a loaded magazine, a box of 9 mm ammo and a metal airsoft gun with a live .22 round in the breech.

Further evidence lead police to execute search warrants on two homes in Dawson Creek on Monday. Police seized what they believe to be cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl, $4,000 in cash and multiple firearms from the homes.

Anyone with any information about this case is asked to contact Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
