Emmitt Finnie, a 2005-born forward from Abbotsford, on Tuesday signed a standard WHL player agreement with the Kamloops Blazers.
The Blazers selected Finnie in Round 4 of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft. He was 5-foot-3 when drafted and now stands 5-foot-10.
“Emmitt thinks the game at a very high level,” Blazers' director of player personnel Robbie Sandland said in a press release.
“With his hockey sense, skill, drive and determination, we feel he has a lot of upside as a player. His game is tailor made to have success as a Blazer."
Finnie played in 2019-2020 for under-15 prep Yale Hockey Academy of Abbotsford and racked up 26 goals and 61 points in 30 games.
He is expected to toil for the Blazers on Friday against the Prince George Cougars in exhibition action. Game time is 7 p.m. at Sandman Centre.
