With its beautiful views of the first and 18th holes, the new patio at The Clubhouse at Prince George Golf and Curling Club is the perfect place to relax after a game of golf.

It’s also ideal for anyone who wants to savour lunch or dinner in such a peaceful, natural environment.

The stunning 2,100 sq.ft. patio is part of an extensive renovation project that celebrates the golf course’s 70th anniversary. A nicely designed wheelchair ramp with automated doors makes it fully accessible from the outside while an indoor lift also provides easy access to The Clubhouse and other facilities.

The Clubhouse’s casual menu gives people a taste of Chef Jordan Reinitz’s skills while his catering options provide a full range of delicious menu options for special events such as weddings, milestone celebrations, awards banquets and business retreats.

Businesses can combine the two by hosting a golf game or curling match to acknowledge staff’s hard work and round it out with a meal at The Clubhouse. It’s also the perfect place for Christmas parties and events hosted by lounge manager Simone Dauvin.

The club has been proud to host several large sporting competitions, but it’s become much more than just golf and curling facility. Close to downtown and yet secluded from the city’s hustle and bustle, there are two private meeting rooms available for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner meetings with plenty of free parking available. Staff can also cater to equipment needs such as overheads, televisions and internet hook-ups.

The upgraded grounds and facilities also make it ideal for banquets and picturesque weddings. In addition to the adjoining meeting rooms, the restaurant seats 100-plus people and the lounge 100 people.

During the summer, the curling ice rink has more than 15,000 sq.ft of space available for events, which recently hosted a wedding banquet for 700 guests.

The golf course has been providing the Prince George area with a relaxing destination since it first opened on May 24, 1949.

Meanwhile, the curling club is gearing up for its 100th anniversary in 2020. It started hosting men’s curling in 1920 and women’s curling in 1924. There have been five different rinks over the years, including the current location which opened in 1973 with eight sheets of ice. In 2015, it welcomed curlers from across the country in the Canada Winter Games.
