Senior Canucks annual general meeting goes Thursday

The Dawson Creek Senior Canucks are hosting their Annual General Meeting Thursday May 9.

They are looking for people in the community interested in becoming volunteers, board members, and associate members.

“It’s a good opportunity for anyone that’s interested in being a part of the team,” says head coach Chris Stevens.

What kind of roles could you fill?

“There’s a little bit of everything, from help on the hockey side of it to help with the game day set-ups, preparation, fundraising, stuff like that. There’s numerous different areas where the team needs help,” says Stevens. “It makes life easier on everyone, the more people you have, the less things to do, and people don’t get bogged down with too much stuff.

“Anyone that’s become a part of it has really enjoyed themselves and being a part of especially the last couple of years how successful the team’s been.”

The AGM will also see the team reflect and plan.

“It’s always a good time to reflect on the season you just had, the things that went right, the things that went wrong, and then more of a focus on the future — our strengths and weaknesses, not just as a hockey team, but as an organization,” says Stevens.

The AGM will be held Thursday at the Super 8 Motel conference room from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
