2020/2021 NPHL season put on hold

Another meeting expected to take place in December to discuss if and when a 2020-2021 season will happen.

NPHL team managers and/or executive members met Tuesday for a discussion on the feasibility of a 2020-2021 NPHL season.

"At this time, with health authority, governing bodies and provincial and federal government restrictions in place, it was decided to put the season on hold," said Dawson Creek Canucks general manager Lincoln Carriere today.

"Another meeting will take place in December to discuss if and when a 2020-2021 season will commence," he said.

"Building off of our momentum from last season, the Canucks are excited to contend for a Campbell Cup again, but want to ensure the safety of our players and fans through this difficult time. We will update everyone once a final decision is made on the NPHL season."

In March, NPHL Jack McAvoy postponed the NPHL final due to COVID-19, citing Hockey Canada and Alberta Hockey decisions.
