Santa is slated for Tumbler Ridge this weekend

This year every child in Tumbler Ridge can receive a small gift of treats from Santa as he rides through every street in Tumbler Ridge on his Polaris sled.

He will be maintaining recommended social distancing guidelines by tossing the treats to any kid standing in their driveway as he passes by.

Santa visits the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark

When: December 19th at 6pm

Where: Tumbler Ridge, BC

Who: The Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark has teamed up with the Backcountry Bandit, Polaris, KC’s Dollar Store, and Meikle Wind Energy to create this event.

“The holiday spirit is alive in the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark. It seemed a shame to let the season pass by without any of the traditional holiday community activities, which are of course impossible to do during a pandemic - you can’t sit on Santa’s lap, spend the day in the mall shopping, or share baked treats with friends and coworkers. Keeping social distancing measures in mind, our team and Backcountry Bandit are bringing Santa Safely to Tumbler Ridge to bring cheer to our community. The kids can get a treat from Santa and we hope it puts a smile on everyone’s faces as he drives his decked out lit-up Polaris sled through the Geopark," says Manda Maggs, Executive Director of Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark.

Families will be able to track Santa’s route and progress on the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark social media channels (@TumblerRidgeGeo) and at SantaintheGeopark.com so they know when he will be visiting their street. Prize draws will also be made every day leading up to Santa’s arrival.
