Community policing office planned for Pouce Coupe

PRRD, and village expected to sign agreement with RCMP.

Pouce Coupe is about to get a community policing office.

On Thursday, it is expected that PRRD directors will enter into an agreement with the Village of Pouce Coupe and the RCMP for a Community Policing Office located at the Pouce Coupe Fire Hall.

The  Village of Pouce Coupe will provide space at the Pouce Coupe Fire Hall to the RCMP for the Community Policing Office (CPO) at no charge.

"The office will be used as a satellite office for the rural areas. The RCMP will make all effort to staff police officers at the CPO, however, this will be entirely dependent upon resources of the day and no commitments are made as to having the CPO staffed in its entirety," note officials.

The matter is an agenda item on this Thursday's regular PRRD meeting.
