Powell River RCMP reported the following for September 11 to 18, 2019.

Break and enter: 2

September 11; Kristensen Road, 9200 block
At approximately 5:03 pm, police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence. Sometime before 2 pm that afternoon, a residence was entered and six firearms were stolen from inside. At approximately 8:24 pm on the same day, a 47-year-old male was arrested for the break and enter. He is currently facing charges of break and enter and possession of break-in instruments. All of the stolen firearms were recovered by the police and have been returned to the owner.

September 14; Quesnel Street, 6900 block
At approximately 1:15 am, police were making patrols and a broken window was located on a school bus belonging to Powell River Christian School. Further patrols were made in the area and a broken window was found on the school as well.

September 17; Powell River
At approximately 2:17 pm, police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver. A witness provided the location of the vehicle and police attended and stopped it. The driver, a 36-year-old male, showed signs of impairment and a field sobriety test was conducted. The male performed poorly on the test and a drug recognition exam was completed. The matter is still under investigation and the male may be facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

Powell River RCMP would like to remind drivers that school is back in session and school zones are in effect. Use extra caution while driving as there will be more students on the roads and sidewalks.
