Common sense would dictate their removal for the consumption of food and/or drink, provided that physical distancing protocols are being adhered to. Ninety-five per cent of British Columbians are untested and possess an unknown status.

Our neighbours south of the 49th parallel are being crippled by COVID-19, and when coupled with the current president pushing hard to reopen the Canada-US border, it means our backs are really up against this unprecedented public health challenge.

The BC government needs some legislative teeth in our toolbox; the CARE Act would provide a certain level of protection to mitigate risk.

The time to act was yesterday, and since this is no longer an option, let’s do it now.
