Powell River letter

Imagine you are a creature of the forest, browsing around on a glorious morning, the filtrating sun shining on the delicious leaves, berries and young maple buds, what a feast [“Regional district reacts to herbicide/pesticide application,” June 4].

Not knowing the cause, that morning you all of a sudden feel cramps, difficulty breathing, dizziness, diarrhea and difficulty walking. You don’t know it but your nervous system is permanently damaged.

You would never know why or by whom this happened because you have no understanding of the kind of creatures that poison the forest, just to control what grows there. Creatures that care only for their own interest, and sacrifice the balance and interdependence of nature for a short-term gain.

How dare they poison the forest and how dare we let them. Help stop the spraying of pesticides by Western Forest Products in our local forests.

We do not consent to this poisoning of nature.
