Powell River’s Michael Hill drops title fight

Opponent takes unanimous decision to claim welterweight title

Powell River mixed martial arts fighter Michael Hill came up short in his attempt to win the Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) interim welterweight title on Friday, September 18, in Tunica, Mississippi.

Judges scored the four-round, 170-pound division fight 40-36, 40-36, 40-36 in favour of Bobby Lee (12-4). Hill’s record dropped to 11-5.

Hill took part in season 16 of the Ultimate Fighter in 2012; he was one of two Canadians featured in the reality television series.

Hill has been involved in professional mixed martial arts for the past decade.
