Powell River RCMP reported the following for September 17 to 23, 2020.

Total calls for service: 87
Thefts: 4
Assaults: 6
Impaired driving: 5
Mischief: 2
Break and enter: 2

September 19; Joyce Avenue
At approximately 12:49 pm, police responded to a report of an erratic driver. The vehicle was reported to be driving on the sidewalk and weaving back and forth on the roadway. Police attended and located the vehicle in a parking lot. The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old female from Powell River, showed signs of drug impairment. The driver was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act and her licence was seized.

September 22; Alberni Street
At approximately 4:20 pm, police responded to a report of a theft at The Source. A male and female entered the store and stole a JBL bluetooth speaker valued at $239. This matter is still under investigation.

September 22; Highway 101, south
At approximately 5:42 pm, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 101 near Brew Bay Road.  The driver of a black Pontiac lost control of his vehicle after swerving to avoid a deer. The vehicle skidded around and ended up in a ditch on the side of the road. The driver did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision and the vehicle was towed.
