June 11; Nootka Street
At approximately 12:35 am, police attempted to stop a vehicle travelling north in an alley between Nootka Street and Massett Street after it was determined not to have insurance. The driver sped up to evade police, but was stopped a short time later. The driver then got out of the vehicle and started running, but was stopped after a short foot pursuit. The 44-year-old male was arrested for flight from police and a search found fentanyl, crystal meth and crack cocaine in his possession. The male will be appearing in court in September and will be facing charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, driving while prohibited and flight from police.

June 12; Bowness Avenue
At approximately 1:27 pm, police received a report of a possible impaired driver on Joyce Avenue. Police attended and located the vehicle on Bowness Avenue. After detecting an odour of liquor, police obtained a breath sample from the 47-year-old male driver. The breath sample registered a fail and the driver was taken back to the RCMP detachment to provide further samples. As a result, the male is facing impaired driving related charges and will be appearing in court in September.
