Powell River RCMP reported the following for September 5 to 11, 2019.

September 5; Selkirk Avenue, 3700 block
At approximately 9:25 am, police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle. Sometime during the previous night, someone broke into a blue Volkswagen parked at that location and stole a wallet (containing credit cards, identification and Canadian currency) and a leather folder.

September 7; Powell Place, 6200 block
At approximately 2:12 pm, police responded to a report of a theft from a boat at the Shinglemill marina. Sometime during the previous night, a boat was entered and approximately $300 to $400 worth of liquor was taken from inside. It is believed that entry was made into the boat through a window.

September 9; Joyce Avenue, 4700 block

At approximately 8:45 pm, police stopped a vehicle after the driver failed to stop for a red light. The driver showed signs of impairment and admitted to consuming liquor. A breath sample was taken by police, which registered a “warn” on the approved screening device. As a result, the 61-year-old male driving the vehicle was issued a three-day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.
