SUMMERTIME SHOWSTOPPERS: A mix of new and regular members of Laszlo Tamasik Dance Academy recently performed for parents and family members after taking part in the academy’s summer camp for musical theatre.

Beginner and intermediate participants aged nine to 12, led by instructor Sydney Spenst, performed outdoors, featuring dance numbers from different eras including Cinderella, Mama Mia and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, as well as scenes from Into the Woods and The Lion King.

Performers narrated between each performance to inform the audience of each new era and how musical theatre changed as the world did.

A younger group, ages six to eight and led by instructor Catherine Forsythe, performed “Friends on the Other Side” from The Princess and the Frog and “If I Only Had a Brain” from The Wizard of Oz inside the facility at the top of Kemano Street.
