SHOWING APPRECIATION: A procession of police, fire and ambulance vehicles from throughout the region did a procession around Powell River General Hospital on April 8 with sirens sounding in recognition of the efforts being made by the community’s health care workers.

Staging took place in the cul-de-sac at the end of Kiwanis Avenue, then at 7 pm the RCMP took the lead, with emergency health services and the fire department following.

The route went up behind the hospital, past the Willingdon Creek village, continuing to the hospital’s back parking lot and proceeding back on the same path past Willingdon Creek, then in the front of the extended care residence and looping around the front of the main and emergency entrances of the hospital.
