Trutch Mountain outhouses vandalized

The outhouses at Trutch Mountain were the target of vandalism on June 29, with graffiti and other damage found at the scene.

Fort Nelson Mayor Gary Foster says the graffiti is nothing more than foolish vandalism.

“Why does somebody go out and do something like that, when it just costs everybody cash to fix it?" Foster said. "It’s not like it won’t get fixed, and it’s not like anyone gets harmed, but it’s an inconvenience for the public."

The outhouse was created through a partnership between Public Works Canada, BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Peace River Regional District, Northern BC Tourism, and the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality as part of the “Gotta Go” program.

If you have any information about this vandalism, please contact the RCMP directly at 250-774-2700 or call the anonymous tip line at 1-800-222-8477.
