Drought levels raised in Fort Nelson, conservation encouraged

The province has set a Level 3 drought rating for the Fort Nelson region due to below normal stream flows.

The classification calls residents, industry, farmers and municipalities to voluntarily reduce water consumption from surface and groundwater sources.

If voluntary reductions of water use do not maintain flows above critical levels, the province said it may consider regulating water usage.
