24th Blizzard Mountain Bike Championship goes Sunday at Beatton Park

For mountain bike enthusiasts, Beatton Park is the place to be this Sunday, September 8. The 24th Annual Blizzard Bike Club Mountain Bike Championship starts at 2 p.m. at Beatton Park, and could be a very muddy, wet, and entertaining race.

The race will take place on some of the new trails that are currently being developed by B.C. Parks.

The Mountain Bike Championship has had a number of homes over the years, according to Pat Ferris. It begain at Beatton Park in the 1980s, before moving near the Fort St. John Motocross Track in 1992. From there, races were held inTaylor and other locations before going back to Beatton for 10 years. The championship was also held at the Cactus trails for six years before finally settling back at Beatton Park, where it will remain going forward.

The club is encouraging those who want to ride or just enjoy the festivities to come out to Beatton.
