The op-ed that the Honorable Member could have written:
“When will I be able to get the vaccine?"
I know this is THE question that has been on a lot of people’s minds as we pass the one-year mark since the first case of COVID-19 was detected in Canada.
Canadians have been patient and resilient throughout the course of the pandemic, but I know, that for many, patience is running out.
Many are concerned because the news has been filled with reports of delays in vaccine shipments.
Federal Procurement Minister, Anita Anand, has assured us that the temporary delays in supply are behind us and that we are on track. Thus, in B.C. we will be on track to complete the vaccinations as per the BCCDC immunization plan: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/emergency-preparedness-response-recovery/covid-19-provincial-support/vaccines#phases
Meanwhile I urge you to continue to adhere to the Public Health Advice of essential travel only, not congregating indoors, having only household members in your home, wearing a mask, washing your hands, staying home if sick and getting tested if suffering symptoms consistent with COVID-19. This way we can keep as many of our neighbours as safe and as healthy as possible until all those who want to be can be immunized.
