Skater of the month for October is Isabella Jones. Isabella is 16 years old and attends Grade 11 at Chatelech Secondary School. She says, “What I love most about skating is my supportive coaches and teammates. My favourite thing in skating is working on spins and field moves. When I’m not on the ice, I like to hang out with my friends or go on trips with my family.” Professional coaches Lesleigh Farr and Daryl Austman say, “Isabella has been with our club longer than any of our participating STAR skaters today. She is a Program Assistant for our Canskate Program, will test her GOLD skills this year and will compete in Star 5 ladies 13&O at four different competitions. Isabella is a great role model for the upcoming skaters and a fine example of all the life skills and values sport can offer. She does a great job maintaining a balanced life with high school, skating, volunteering and a job.
