BC Major Midget Hockey League rookie Jaden Fodchuk got his name on the scoreboard for the first time with a dramatic overtime goal that put an end to the Okanagan Rockets’ 10-game winning streak.

“It felt so good, I feel like that’s one of many more,” Fodchuck told Coast Reporter after the Oct. 26 game, which took place at the Capital News Centre in Kelowna.

Fodchuk’s team, the Vancouver North West Hawks, and the Rockets were tied 4-4 heading into overtime. After a three-pass play involving Ben Kotylak and Matthew Campbell, Fodchuk received the puck in front of the net and scored 20 seconds into the period.

The Hawks are sitting in third place after 12 games, with nine wins and three losses. The Rockets remain in first place.

Fodchuck is a former Sunshine Coast Blues hockey player and was recruited to the Hawks earlier this year.
