Strictly a losing model

We don’t want nor need a privately run long-term care facility on the Sunshine Coast. Not on shíshálh land nor elsewhere. For-profit health care and long-term care is a lose, lose, lose – for taxpayers, seniors and Vancouver Coastal Health. We need a cooperatively owned and co-managed LTC facility, jointly owned and operated by the people living in the facility and VCH authority. Cooperative works in many other places and could work here – and perhaps be a model for the rest of B.C. and Canada.
