Thank you to Julia Budd and her team for organizing the Solidarity Walk on Sunday, June 7 in Sechelt. The timely leadership Julia took on in response to Black Lives Matter was heroic and an inspiration to many of us. Through your collective voice, we acknowledged our own privilege and power to call for action.
In solidarity, we reflect upon the fact that we are grateful to live on and share the unceded land of Sechelt Nation. Let us stay reminded that all of us are guests in this abundant land; we shall be humble to accept our ignorance and negligence.
As hundreds of brothers and sisters walked together on that day, we can remain peaceful and come together as a compassionate family.
The Sunshine Coast Labour Council is honoured to become the allies to work on anti-racism issues on the Coast. We will look forward to connecting with groups who we would like as partners.
