We are writing on behalf of Sunshine Dragons Abreast dragon boat team to thank you and your staff for the excellent coverage of our Fashion Show (Coast Scene, Nov. 1). The photographs and the description of the event by your Heather Till were skillfully done.
This annual event cannot take place without a huge amount of work from our team and many others from the community, including the fashion stores, the volunteers from the salons, models and the host venue, this year the Blue Ocean Golf Club. Many thanks to all who help us with this.
Of course, the event is a lot of fun, but in addition it brings awareness to the community of the challenges of living with a diagnosis of breast cancer and the importance of an activity like dragon boating to survival and quality of life. We welcome those living with a diagnosis of this or other cancer, and their supporters, to join us in this wonderful sport next spring. We are proud to be part of the Sunshine Coast Dragon Boat Club (scdragonboatclub.com).
