What’s your vibe?

Living Well

Shine your light and attract like-minded people.

We can all benefit from more expansive, positive energy and people in our lives. Have you ever noticed that when you’re authentic and true to yourself, you seem to attract a similar vibe from others? It can be as simple as smiling at a stranger, or as basic as being more vulnerable or kind, to consciously cultivating more meaningful relationships.

Some people take this expansive energy to the next level, inspiring others to live more soulful, authentic and thriving lives. Locally, Tanis Frame of Decide to Thrive comes to mind.

Frame, who divides her time between the Sunshine Coast and Whistler, describes herself as “relentlessly curious about what cultivates thriving and what gets in the way.”

She is a popular speaker, coach and facilitator of groups and high-performance teams with over two decades of experience as the driver of a “Decide to Thrive Revolution,” supporting others to live their best lives.

“I believe that thriving is a courageous choice, one we make a thousand times a day,” Frame says.

When it comes to nurturing positive relationships and experiences, it’s important to pay attention to what you contribute in terms of energy and authenticity.

“What we put out in the world is definitely what we get back -- and what we look for in the world, we definitely see,” Frame notes. “As humans we are actually hard-wired as a social species to mirror each other – so our way of being is contagious. That can be an upward spiral or downward spiral: someone can bring you down or rise you up.”

Having a positive experience often comes down to fostering good and lasting connections.

“We are wired for connection in so many ways and it’s essential to thriving or flourishing as humans,” Frame says. “Your vibe absolutely attracts your tribe – it’s called resonance – and it’s actually physics!”

Pretending to be something or someone you’re not will mess with the physics of friendship, according to Frame, while being genuinely curious about others and yourself while spending time on things and people that resonate with you will nurture fabulous connections and a more thriving life.

Nourishing yourself through self-care is a good first step to building the kind of energy that will add brightness to your life. But it’s not as simple as going to the spa or eating right.

“Sometimes self-care is saying no when we want to say no, or being compassionate with ourselves when we’re human, or taking the time and space to celebrate our big and little wins each day,” Frame says.

Being curious, setting loving boundaries with others, trying new things, and exploring new communities will help, too. In addition to her workshops and online communities, Frame also offers a number of free tools and inspirational resources at tanisframe.com/freestuff to begin exploring a more thriving vibe and life.

“I want to see that fire, that light in each of us, dusted off and fueled to shine bright,” she adds. “When it does, we emanate like a beacon or a lighthouse, and our people can find us.”
