Toastmasters Month: The Mayors of Sechelt and Gibsons are proclaiming February as Toastmasters Month. Gibsons mayor Bill Beamish read his proclamation at the Jan. 28 council meeting. Sechelt mayor Darnelda Siegers was scheduled to read the proclamation Feb. 5, at the first council meeting of the month. The proclamations highlight Toastmasters’ work to help people develop skills in speaking, listening, and “other vital skills that enhance leadership potential and foster understanding.” Pictured is Neil Booth of Toastmasters receiving a copy of the Toastmasters Month proclamation from Mayor Beamish.

The four Sunshine Coast Toastmasters Clubs are holding Open House events from Feb. 10 to 13. Come visit as a guest or join as a member. Learn to develop your own speaking style about subjects that interest you. Receive support and self-paced learning resources, starting at any time during the year.

Neil Booth of Toastmasters said, “We are a really friendly bunch of people…You should come and see what it’s all about, I think it will open your eyes and you will see what you can get from a Toastmasters meeting.”
