It’s that time of year again.
The BC Thanksgiving Food Drive for the four Sunshine Coast food banks will be held from Sept. 13 to 21.
There are currently 135 volunteers signed up for the event, but more are needed, said organizer Burns Matkin.
“We are particularly looking for help in Langdale, Davis Bay and Pender Harbour, but all help in all areas is welcome,” Matkin said. “It would entail as little as one hour to really help out.”
The food drive has been organized on the Sunshine Coast for 10 years. During this time, the total amount of food collected for the food banks is about 175,000 pounds, he said.
“Businesses can help too,” he added, “with collection and with logistics before the food drive.”
