The Fung Loy Kok/Taoist Tai Chi Society on the Sunshine Coast is holding its fifth annual fundraising yard sale this Saturday at 5068 Chapman Rd. in Davis Bay. Members will be available to meet the public as you check out good quality, inexpensive items. Throughout the 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. event there will be demonstrations of the healing art of tai chi chuan.

The Taoist tai chi group is raising money for their non-profit organization whose aim is to help others by offering tai chi classes for health for all ages and abilities. The society was founded in Canada in 1970 by a Taoist monk and is now an international organization with more than 40,000 members around the world. Master Moy Lin Shin dedicated his life to helping othersby teaching the gentle art of tai chi. He also initiated programs to feed the hungry.

A portion of the proceeds raised at the yard sale will go to support the Breakfast for Kids program on the Sunshine Coast.

Come join us rain or shine for the yard sale. Taoist tai chi beginner classes start in September in Gibsons and Sechelt. More information is available by calling 604-886-3835 or check out our website at www.taoist.org.
