At a recent meeting of the Sunshine Coast Lions Club (Sechelt), District Governor Simon Yau inducted four new members to the club: Mary Anne Darney, Tracy Mitchell, Peggy Robertson, and Linda Stroud. Also in attendance at the meeting were representatives of the Gibsons, Pender Harbour, and Egmont Lions Clubs as well as past district governor Eric Keller and zone chairman Bob Nordlund.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of various awards including the highest Canadian award in Lionism, the Judge Brian Stevenson Fellowship Award, to Lion Richard Grant. This award is to recognize outstanding achievement and dedication to one’s own Lions Club and to Lions International over a lengthy period of time. Not only did Richard achieve this award, he was also named as the Lion of the Year for 2016.
