Candace Campo and Dale Peterson will join forces on Feb. 28 to present a collaborative virtual historical walking tour on Zoom.

Campo is a shíshálh Nation anthropologist and teacher with varied experience presenting Coast Salish history in both Sechelt and Stanley Park/North Shore areas with walking and kayaking tours of Skwxwú7mesh and shíshálh First Nations.

Peterson is a third generation Gibsons native starting his seventh year doing Gibsons historical walks and third year with Howe Sound boat tours.

“Dale and Candace are partnering to share a unique online tour and experience with you by co-guiding,” says the tour description.

“Our shared early history as Indigenous and pioneer settlers of this region will be highlighted. The tour will include the oral history, marine technology, and the way of life of the shíshálh and Skwxwú7mesh, two sister tribes who have intermarried and collaborated for millennia via the Potlatch way of life.”

The Feb. 28 virtual tour runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

To register, go to aboriginalecotours.com. If you have questions, call Peterson at 604-886-1424.
