Saturday, Sept. 7 supporting Paws for a Cause and Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, the fundraising event PAWSitively Pender Harbour will be happening in front of EarthFair Store with home-baked deliciousness including treats for furkids, fresh produce and flower bouquets from local gardeners, I Love My Pet jewelry, No Flea Flee Market, contests and prizes. 

And Sunday, Sept. 8, is the Paws for a Cause walk and celebration at Hackett Park starting at noon. 

Join the Pender Harbour and Area Residents Association for their Fall Trash Bash Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Register at Lions Park at 9:45 a.m. where supplies will be provided (gloves, bags, trash tongs, etc.) and be prepared to pick up trash. The Pender Harbour Aquatic and Fitness Centre opening day is Sunday, Sept. 8. Come enjoy the Family Swim, 1 to 4 p.m. 

Tuesday, Sept. 10 is the start of the Pender Harbour Choir fall season, with a rehearsal at 7 p.m. at the School of Music.

Harbourside Friend-ships Sept. 12 will be an exciting road trip to Lund with lunch at the famous Laughing Oyster restaurant; $50 includes car ride and lunch. Depart on the 10:35 ferry from Earls Cove and return on the 4:55 ferry. Reserve with Marlene at 604-883-9900. 

The Coffee House at the School of Music Friday, Sept. 13 will feature fantastic local performers: Backporch Reunion, Cajun band; Danny Vallee, singer, songwriter, guitarist; Allan Nienhuis, vocals with guitar. Doors open at 7 p.m., music at 7:30 p.m., $10 suggested donation at the door. Coffee and goodies sold. For more info, call 604-883-9749. 

The Pender Harbour Community Hall will be closed Sept. 18 to 29 for resurfacing of the floors. No bingo Sept. 19 and 26. Planning a wedding or special event? The Community Hall is a great venue and very reasonable. 

Decorate the Town in Straw! The Fall Faire Scarecrow contest is now open to all. Categories are families, business and school grades. Register by email at phcommunity
