Pickleball resumes in Halfmoon Bay for the fall season – Sept. 23 until Dec. 4. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at Pickleball Nights, all skill levels, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. It is sponsored by Halfmoon Bay Community Association (HBCoA). Plan to arrive by 5:30 pm. Dress appropriately (runners and workout gear). All other equipment, racquets and balls, are provided. The construction by Capilano Highway Services on Redrooffs at Coopers Green has been extended from Sept 10 to 14. Be aware of traffic disruptions. 

The annual Backroad Trash Bash community cleanup is coming. You are invited to join the SCRD on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Seaside Centre, 5790 Teredo St., Sechelt. This year’s cleanup will target illegal dump sites from Halfmoon Bay to Sechelt to Roberts Creek. The SCRD is looking for volunteers with vehicles capable of hauling garbage (i.e., pickup trucks) as well as volunteers to help clean the illegal dump sites. To pre-register as a volunteer, please contact infrastructure@scrd.ca or call 604-885-6806.
