The Halfmoon Bay branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary is holding its next meeting on Monday, Sept. 9 at 9:45 a.m. at Coopers Green Hall. All guests and new members are welcome.
You are invited to join the SCRD at the annual Backroad Trash Bash community clean-up. Meet on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Seaside Centre, 5790 Teredo Street, Sechelt. This year’s clean-up will target illegal dump sites from Halfmoon Bay to Roberts Creek. The SCRD is looking for volunteers with vehicles capable of hauling garbage as well as volunteers to help clean the illegal dump sites. Pickleball starts its fall season, Sept. 23 to Dec. 4. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at Pickleball Nights, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road, sponsored by Halfmoon Bay Community Association. Halfmoon Bay Elem-entary School and the Sechelt Library are jointly holding a Lobster Fest fundraiser for a Playground Structure that offers children with diverse abilities the opportunity to play alongside one another. Tickets ($100 each) are available at the school office. The Lobster Fest will be held at Rockwater Secret Cove Resort on Saturday, Sept. 28. Contact the school for more information.
