ElderDog Canada Sunshine Coast is celebrating their first-year anniversary. Their wonderful program of volunteers helps seniors with caring for their furkids, offering dog walking, transport to vet appointments and help with food delivery. There are often sweet furkids in need of a permanent or foster home. For more information about ElderDog Canada, please visit their website at www.elderdog.ca. You can contact the local branch at [email protected] or on their Facebook page at ElderDog Canada Sunshine Coast.

Many folks have come to me wanting to adopt a pet. There are many very good adoption organizations such as ElderDog Sunshine Coast, Thank Dog I Am Out, Big and Small and Raincoast Rescue, all with wonderful dogs in need of a forever home. The BCSPCA has moved forward and away from having a lot of animals to be adopted. Many of you have voiced your disappointment. Explore the other rescues and non-profit organizations. For those adopting for the first time, please note the process of adopting can be intense, slow, with detailed paperwork, a home inspection and adoption fees. Patience is a requirement.

Thanks to all for observing, reporting and staying vigilant during very challenging times. The return to our much-loved peaceful paradise is underway! Contact me with your news at [email protected] for the Friday edition of the Coast Reporter.
