Homeopathic vet takes over two corridor clinics

A new vet has taken the helm at the Animal Health Clinic of Whistler and Squamish Veterinary Services.

Dr. Loridawn Gordon began her new venture at the end of March. Gordon, a graduate of Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI, has been practicing in the Fraser Valley since 2002. She also has training in homeopathy at the University of B.C.'s College of Animal Homeopathic Medicine.

"I practice traditional medicine with basic principles of medicine, focusing on diet and natural supplements and herbs," said Gordon. "I use homeopathy to expand my tool box."

The Animal Health Clinic of Whistler now offers a full range of services in diagnostics (ultrasound, in-house blood work) and laser therapy for treatment of arthritic conditions. Dr. Gordon is also well versed in a variety of surgeries. A unique extra for the practice is the availability of house calls and transportation of your pet to the Squamish office.

For the time being both clinics will run with the same hours as in the past, but there is a plan to offer evening hours in the near future. Gordon is joined by four staff members -Christian Hatt and Mars Parent in the Whistler clinic and Sophie and Stacey Nault in Squamish.

The local vet lives in Whistler with her two children, plus her WAG dog Patch and two rescue cats, Rosie and Socks. Gordon said she's glad to be working in the area that she loves.
