The Squamish Food Bank is on the move.
In a Facebook post on Aug. 6, the organization said it will be moving to the Under One Roof facility on 37871 Third Avenue as part of a partnership with Squamish Helping Hands.
The new food bank will be called ‘The Market’ and is open to all.
The aim is for the new location to be open on Sept. 1.
The current Government Road facility will close on Aug. 14, but those needing food between then and the start of September can visit Squamish Helping Hands at 39730 Third Avenue. Squamish Helping Hands can prepare food hampers and also provide free hot meals.
Alternatively, people who can’t make the trip can call or email: squamishfoodbank@gmail.com or call 604-815-7332.
The food bank also announced it will be stopping its COVID-19 emergency hamper initiative on Aug. 14, with final deliveries happening on the week of Aug. 10.
The organization’s new hours at The Market will be as follows:
Tuesday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
