What makes their company unique is working with family, says Keli Hopkins, administrator, and part owner of New Era Plumbing and Heating Ltd.

After completing her business degree, Hopkins along with her husband Kodi and his identical twin brother, Jhye, who were plumbers by trade since 2002, decided to launch the business in 2011 with a small team.

The vision — incorporate old-school values with a new-school mindset.

Kodi continually produces fresh ideas, Jhye is the “king of communication” and apt problem solver while Keli brings balance by ensuring they are financially and legally sound each month.

Currently, they boast over 40 quality-driven employees who are the company’s backbone. “We
use technology, social media, and new products to ensure all of our employees are working as a team and delivering the same standards across the corridor.”

Operating a large team is challenging but produces far more opportunities. “We know that working is just a job to many, but we try to incorporate different aspects that set us apart,” she explains.

Running the office with the help of two other women, Katti McLaren and Sara Mameli, the team is also backed up by the shop manager, Ally Smith. “I feel so fortunate to
be working in what is considered
by many a men’s industry with such positive, intelligent and hard-working women.”
