The Northland Nissan Assault took on the defending Senior "C" provincial champion Port Coquitlam Hitmen on Sunday afternoon at Kin 1. A quick start saw the Assault up 3-2 midway through the first period but five unanswered goals saw the Hitmen take the lead and they didn't look back. The Assault got the game within one goal after two periods trailing 8-7 but a strong six goal third period offensive performance and a stifling defense made sure Port Coquitlam would once against hoist the Fred Doig Memorial Cup as B.C. Senior "C" provincial champions and winners of the Glen Moose Scott Invitational lacrosse tournament. Leading scorers for the Hitmen were Quinton Pavan who had four goals and an assist, Fraser Miller who had three goals and an assist, and Kyle Enkleman who had two goals and three assists. Leading scorers for the Assault were Drew Doig who had three goals and an assist, Dave Jenkins who had four assists, and Patrick Griffiths who had a pair of goals. Earlier in the day the Wsanec Arrows defeated the Westwood Pub Devils 1-0 in the bronze medal game.
