UBC stops Timberwolves' winning streak

The UNBC Timberwolves men's basketball team took on the visiting UBC Thunderbirds in the first game of their weekend doubleheader on Friday night at Northern Sport Centre.

The UNBC Timberwolves men's basketball team took on the visiting UBC Thunderbirds in the first game of their weekend doubleheader on Friday night at Northern Sport Centre.

Despite a 25 point fourth quarter for the Timberwolves it wasn't enough as the visitors took the first game of the weekend by a score of 96-78 ending the T-wolves two-game winning streak.

Tyrell Laing had 21 points while Vova Pluzhnikov had 20 points for UNBC. Jadon Cohee and Grant Audu led the way for the Thunderbirds with both players scoring 20 points apiece.

The Timberwolves loss and Thunderbirds win sees both teams now sit at a record of 3-2.

The two teams will play again Saturday night at Northern Sport Centre with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
