College Heights playing for 15th at provincial soccer championship

Two weeks after they found soccer nirvana in an overtime win to capture the North Central zone double-A boys championship, the season will end Wednesday without a provincial medal for the College Heights Cougars.

Two weeks after they found soccer nirvana in an overtime win to capture the North Central zone double-A boys championship, the season will end Wednesday without a provincial medal for the College Heights Cougars.
A 5-0 loss to South Kamloops Tuesday afternoon at the 16-year provincial tournament in Burnaby dropped the Cougars' record to 0-3. They'll play Brooks of Powell River for 15th place Wednesday at 9 a.m.
Coached by Gil Botelho and Walter Pandolfo, the Cougars qualified for the B.C. championship in the zone final with a 1-0 overtime win over the Duchess Park Condors.
The Cougars opened their provincial title quest Monday morning with a 3-2 loss to Notre Dame of Vancouver, then dropped a 3-1 decision in the afternoon to St. Michaels of Victoria.
Notre Dame will play St. Thomas Aquinas of North Vancouver for the B.C. double-A championship Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. Brentwood College of Mill Bay and Langley Fundamental will battle for bronze, also at 11:15 a.m.
